Our Personal Adigar's Manor Kandy Review
Our verdict: 4.8 / 5 — a standout heritage boutique stay just outside Kandy, defined by its restored Walauwa setting and exceptional personal service.
What ultimately differentiates Adigar’s Manor is how consistently the heritage setting shapes the overall experience. That difference is noticeable throughout the property. The layout, verandas, courtyards, and sense of space reflect a private residence with history, not a modern interpretation of heritage style.
From our own perspective, the stay felt genuinely special. The rooms were beautifully designed, spacious, and thoughtfully laid out, with attention to detail you don’t often see. The pool was a pleasure to use — slightly cool, but refreshing, especially since Kandy itself isn’t particularly hot.
Service stood out the most. Having a dedicated staff member available to us throughout the stay was impressive, but also something we had to adjust to. We’re not used to this level of one-to-one attention, and at times it felt almost too attentive — though that says more about our own travel style than the service itself.
The food was excellent across the board, but also expensive by Sri Lankan standards. Paying around €60 for a three-course dinner felt high compared to most places in the country, even if the quality justified it. What stayed with us most, however, was how warm and genuinely kind everyone was — a level of hospitality that felt sincere rather than polished.
